CAS(E) This Sketch #166

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #166 designed by Chrissy Larson:

I decided to use my PTI Spring Woods stamps and dies
for this sketch.

I started by inking my white cardstock panel with some Altenew Frosted Pink ink
and my blending tool.
I stamped the bird and branch on their coordinating diecuts and
stamped the sentiment directly onto my card front.

A few PTI Rainstones finish it off.

Exciting News

I have some very exciting news to share today...

I love inspiration photo challenges, so I think this design team
will be an excellent fit for me!

I thought I'd share the card that I made for the

Isn't that bouquet beautiful?
I was inspired to create my own bouquet on my card.

I used my Mama Elephant Sketched Flowers stamp set to create my card.
I stamped the flowers in versamark and heat embossed them in white.
Instead of masking my flowers, I just brushed off the extra embossing powder
before heating it each time.
I coloured them in with a paintbrush, water and ink pressed onto my acrylic block.

I stamped the sentiment (from PTI's Spring Woods) in versa fine onyx black onto a piece
of vellum that I diecut using the banner die from Reverse Confetti's Flowers for Mom Confetti Cuts
and heat embossed it in clear.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 273 & Colour Challenge 42

Today, I have a card to share for MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 273:

The red and blue reminded me of the Pepsi colours, so I decided
to use my MFT Soda Pop stamp set and dies to make my card.

I started by blending some Altenew inks (Crimson and Caribbean Sea) onto some
white cardstock and then die cutting the dies from it.
Then, I added a little more ink to the bottom of the bottles, to give a bit of an ombre
effect (this doesn't show too well in my photo, though.)

I smooshed some PTI Melon Berry ink onto my background
and diecut my panel using a Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Rectangle die.
I stamped my sentiment (from MFT Soda Pop) in Altenew Moon Rock.

The Card Concept #51 {Naturally Pink}

Today, I have a card to share for The Card Concept #51 {Naturally Pink}:

I was inspired by the nest in the bowl to create a wreath on my Clean & Layered card.

I diecut my wreath using Swirlies Confetti Cuts from kraft cardstock.
I stamped the roses from Rose Garden onto their coordinating Confetti Cuts
and the sprigs and leaf directly onto the background.

I added some ink blending to my card and stamped the sentiment
(also from Rose Garden) into the centre of my wreath.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
So, last month, I decided to start Bible Journaling.
I'd been toying with the idea of making a Lent journal,
but thought I might enjoy something like this that would last
past the Lenten season.
So, I ordered a Journaling Bible online, as well as some pens and clear gesso.
And, on Wednesday, I got up the courage to make my first page.

Now, I have to say, this was a learning experience and
I'm going to choose to learn from this experience
(when in reality, I was pondering the feasibility of ordering another Bible to start over!)
Okay, so I understood that coating my page in clear gesso would protect it
and help things from bleeding through to the back of the page.
Well, the clear gesso wrinkled my page,
which I really didn't like.

Then, after I pencilled in my verse and copied over it in marker,
I tried to erase my pencil marks.
 This didn't work.
I made everything behind the letters look smudged and grey.
So, to camouflage this, I blended some grey ink onto the page,
but I'm not happy with the results.
So, next time, I will skip the gesso and really let my marker dry before
trying to erase my pencil marks, which I hope with help.
Okay, so here's my page:

I used two PTI stamps -- one from Phrases & Praises and the globe from Destinations.
I chose this verse first because,
first of all, it's really one of my favoruites that I've had memorized for years.
And this month, it was our memory verse in Sunday School, as we discussed HOPE.
I explained to my girls that people often feel that when things don't go right
(or they have trouble), they think God doesn't love them anymore,
or has abandoned them or has dropped the ball.
But Jesus promises two things in this verse:
#1. We will have trouble.
#2. That we don't have to worry because Jesus has overcome the world.
He's got this and he just wants us to trust in Him.
That's our hope.

The Challenge #65

Today, I  have a card to share that I made for The Challenge #65:

I was inspired by the flowers on top of the pile of books
and decided to ink up my new Ellen Hutson Mondo Hydrangea stamp set.

I started by diecutting the hydrangea and solitary bloom from
white cardstock and stamping them in berry sorbet ink.
Then, using my MISTI, I stamped again in versamark and
heat embossed them in clear.
With a paint brush, water and some ink pressed onto my acrylic block,
I painted them in.

The sentiment is also from Mondo Hydrangea.

For my pot, I diecut some Bazzill Basics silver foil using
my Reverse Confetti Basket Confetti Cuts, but I decided it was too shiny.
So I pressed it into versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed it in clear.

It turned out pretty cool.

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop

Today, I'm participating in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

This month's challenge was to be inspired by the work of Izziyana Suhaimi.
There were several examples of her work, but I chose to be inspired by this photo:

I was inspired by the grey and white flower in the middle of the image,
with the embroidered flowers around it.
I chose not to embroider on my card, but the embroidery had a bit of a folk art feel to me,
so I decided to create my card with the same type of design.

I started by stamping the large floral stamp details from the Colour Pop Florals mini kit
in the centre of my card and heat embossing it in white.
Then, I blended some soft stone ink around the centre of my card and around the edges,
before using the Colour Pop Florals stencil to add my flower in Stormy Seas.
Then, I stamped the trio of little flowers in Summer Sunrise and versa mark and heat embossed it
in clear before adding the stencilled flowers over top.

I stamped the flourishes from Wee Folk and added the stencilled leaves
and stamped the detail (from the Colour Pop Florals kit).
The sentiment is from Winter Woods.

I'm linking this up to this week's Make It Monday #243: Ink Blending Over Heat Embossing.

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #165 designed by Sam Simpson:

I decided to combine my PTI Brushed Off stamp set

I stamped the Brushed Off repeatedly along the top of my card in Harvest Gold,
Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz (all PTI) and Frosted Pink (Altenew).
Then, I stamped the sentiment (from PTI's Painted Petals) in versafine onyx black
and in versamark on a strip of black cardstock, which I heat embossed in white.

I diecut the MIM Colour Pop dies from sweet blush and simply chartreuse cardstock
and then stamped them in raspberry fizz and ripe avocado inks.

Inspired by All the Little Things #7

Today, I have a card to share that I made for Inspired by All the Little Things #7
using some Reverse Confetti goodies.

Isn't that bucket of tulips so pretty?
I was inspired by the aqua pail of flowers and the worn wooden chair to make my card.

I started with a piece of Webster's Pages patterned paper for my background.
I diecut my Basket Confetti Cuts from aqua mist cardstock and used it to make my pail.
I filled my pail with some simply chartreuse Leafy Confetti Cuts,
some Garden Bunch flowers stamped on their coordinating Garden Bunch Confetti Cuts
and a couple of buttons and twine.

I stamped the sentiment (from A Friend Like You) in dark chocolate
to match my strip of patterned paper.

using some masking.
I also stamped a flower and two leaves onto another piece of white cardstock
and fussy cut them out by hand.
I coloured in the flowers/berries/leaves with a paintbrush and some ink mixed with water.

PTI's Create Along With Us & Muse Challenge #157

I have a few cards to share today.
The first two are ones that I made for PTI's Create Along With Us: March 2016.
I was inspired by this fabulous card by the amazing Amy Sheffer:

Isn't it gorgeous and so creative?
I just love it!
Here's my CASE:

I decided to use my One Big Happy stamp set and dies to decorate my cake,
as well as my Songbird leaf die and Heart Border die.

The sentiment is from PTI's Spring Woods stamp set
and the hearts at the top are from Reverse Confetti's Stamped Note Confetti Cuts.

I decided to make two cards at the same time, but with the cake
on the opposite side.

I also have a card to share for this week's Muse Card Club Challenge #157
where we are being inspired by this card by Anita Bowden:

I love her gorgeous card!
Here's my take on it:

I started by stamping my white panel with my new Mama Elephant Freestyle Flowers
in versamark and heat embossed the in white.
I added some aqua mist, hawaiian shores and tropical teal inks with my blending tool.

I stamped my sentiment (from PTI's KIS:Sympathy) in versa mark
and heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock.
