CAS(E) This Sketch #256

Today, I have a card to share that I made for
CAS(E) This Sketch #256 designed by Chrissy Larson:

I have to admit this was a challenging sketch for me.
I also wanted to play along with this month's Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink,
which was to make a card using this photo as inspiration:

Cute, right?
I was going to do something with my Summertime Sweetness set, with popsicles,
but I wasn't thrilled with how that turned out.
So, I decided to be inspired by the fact that it's food, as well as the colours.

Here's my card:

I apologize for the poor photo!
I haven't been home during the daylight hours this week in order to take a decent picture!

I stamped the little scales and bowls of fruit in colours that matched the inspiration photo.
I overlapped them, like the sketch, and matted it on aqua mist cardstock.
I diecut the hello using my Wet Paint diecuts, from white cardstock.

Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see the rest of the DT's takes on the sketch
and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Thursday, February 1st to link up your card.

Inspired By All the Little Things #78

Today, I have a card to share for
Inspired By All the Little Things #78:

I was inspired by the colours, the quatrefoil patterns on the background of two
cookies and the sweet little birds.
I decided to use my Papertrey Ink Spring Woods stamp set to make my card:

I tried to add some texture to my background by inking up a stencil with versamark
and pressing it onto my white panel.
This didn't really work the way I envisioned, but nevertheless, I heat embossed it
with white embossing powder.
It's very faint and hard to see in the photo.
I blended Altenew Frosty Pink ink over it and spritzed on some Cotton Candy ink
mixed with water.

I stamped my sentiment (from PTI's Spring Woods) in versamark onto a strip of grey
cardstock and heat embossed it in white.
I stamped the bird and branch images onto their coordinating diecuts in
Altenew Morning Frost, Cotton Candy, Coral Berries, Evening Grey and Frosty Pink,
as well as PTI Green Parakeet.

Visit Inspired By All the Little Things to see the rest of the DT's takes
on the inspiration photo and to play along, if you'd like.
You have until Friday, February 2nd to link up your card.

Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge: January

Today, I have two cards to share for this month's Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up Challenge --
one from me and one from Sage.
Yes, Sage made a card!
It's been a while. ;)

Sage and her brothers gave me some Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours for Christmas,
so, Sage joined me in my craft area the other evening to play with them.

We both stamped the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Peony onto watercolour paper
in versafine onyx black ink and heat embossed it in clear.
Then, we set to colouring them in.

Here's my card:

I added a couple of extra blooms, as well as some splatters.

I stamped my sentiment using two from Concord & 9th's Flourish,
which I stamped in versamark on a strip of grey cardstock and heat embossed in white.

Here's Sage's card:

It's it pretty?
She added the "hello" from Concord & 9th's Flourish and
the "lovely" from Concord & 9th's Hello Lovely.

Inspired By All the Little Things #77

Today, I have a card to share for
Inspired By All the Little Things #77:

I was inspired by the sweet critters & their colours.
I decided to use my MFT Forest Friends stamp set to make my card,
as well as the MFT Wednesday Sketch 366:

Here's my card:

I started by blending Altenew Mountain Mist ink onto my panel and then
pressed some Lagoon ink on my acrylic block, mixed it with water and
flicked some onto my panel.
Once it was dry, I diecut the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Frame die from the panel,
as well as from a piece of cardstock, which I stacked and adhered together.

I stamped the critters onto a strip of watercolour paper in versafine black onyx ink
and heat embossed them in clear.
I coloured them in with my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers, as well as my
Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours.
I stamped the sentiment (also from Forest Friends) in versamark and heat
embossed it in white on a MFT diecut banner.

on the inspiration photo and to play along, if you'd like.

A Tag You're It Farewell

Today, I'm here to participate in a farewell post
The challenge closed its doors last month,
but Tracey wanted to do a post of both the past and present designers
as a tribute to it.

I joined the team in June of 2014 (how can that possibly be 3 1/2 years ago?)
This was the first tag I created for the challenge:

Here are a few of my favourite projects I made as a design team member:

While I left the team in December 2014, I was very honoured to be asked to be
a guest designer for the challenge last month, for which I created this tag:
